You don’t need to ask what’s new at the Art Park because you are looking at it right now. This e-letter is one of several initiatives aimed at a fresher, more effective communication. Our ever-improving website now includes a web-cam link as well as a News section to keep everyone up to speed on Art Park events.
We have also been very busy preparing for this year’s exhibitions and programs. Foremost among them is the Rodger Mack exhibition, which will open on July 26 to October. It will include definitive sculpture and works on paper of this renowned American artist. The exhibit includes a showing of a new 30-minute film covering Rodger’s life and work replete with music commissioned for this film.
The Art Park has started an effort to significantly improve our collection of permanent sculpture. As a first step there will be a dedication on June 15th of the Emilie Brzezinski sculpture, Spruce Echoes, which is a gift to us by former Art Park President, Linda Muschenheim. Thank you to Linda and her family. Emilie Brzezinski has also provided us with a loan of her sculpture Passages which will be installed this spring. Thank you, Emilie. We are in the process of identifying additional new sculpture and new donors to help expand our collection.
For our May/June exhibit we are presenting the works of some of

The artists’ work embraces a variety of mediums including painting, ceramics, mixed media, wood sculpture, conceptual environmental installations and photography.
We are resuming the YMCA’s Summer Arts program this summer for children ages 8-12, with two one-week sessions in July. We expect this to be a sell-out, so early registration is urged.
Our annual “Art in the Sky” Kite Festival is moved to June 21 and 22. We have recruited a number of experienced kiters who will travel here from around the northeast to make this an enhanced experience for all of us.
This past February we hosted some outdoor activities as part of Cazenovia Winterfest. While the snow cover was thin, outdoor activities such as sledding and hiking were enjoyed – and the hot chocolate was a hit! It will be bigger and better next year. Also earlier this year the Art Park was the venue for exhibitions by classes at
Once again the Art Park hosts the Pottery Fair August 16 & 17. This is traditionally the busiest weekend of the Art Park year. And mark you calendars for October 11, the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend, for the return of Talons! A Bird of Prey Experience. (See slideshow on website.)
As you can see, we have an active year ahead of us. The planning of it and the doing of it involve our enthused and engaged staff, regular pitching in by our board and committee members and by our volunteers…make that Volunteers with a capital V. Let me close this with a personal thank you to the many of you who will make this year wonderful at the Art Park.
